Save videos straight to iPhone Photos with one tap

Downloading a video in Safari on iPhone puts it in the Files app, not in Photos. Our free Shortcut fixes that: it downloads the video and saves it to your Photos library in one step.

1. Add the Shortcut

Open our Shortcut page on your iPhone and tap Add the Shortcut, then Add Shortcut in the Shortcuts app.

2. Share a video

In X, YouTube, TikTok or Bilibili tap Share and pick xMediaFetchBot. On X, choose Share via… first. If you don't see the Shortcut, scroll to the end of the app row, tap More and enable it.

3. Allow access once

The first run asks for permission to connect to our server and to add to Photos. Tap Always Allow so future downloads need no taps at all.

Why the Shortcut is better than Safari

  • No Files app detour — the video lands in Photos.
  • It always picks an H.264 MP4 with sound, which Photos accepts.
  • New downloads are dated today, so they appear at the bottom of your library.

Saving without the Shortcut

Download the video on our site in Safari, then open Files › Downloads, tap the video, tap Share and choose Save Video.
