How to download Twitter (X) videos on any device

X doesn't have a download button, but every public video, GIF and photo can be saved in its original quality in a few seconds. Here's how on every device.

On a computer

  1. Open the post on x.com and copy the address from the browser bar (or click Share › Copy link).
  2. Go to our X video downloader and paste the link.
  3. Click Get download links, then the download button next to the quality you want. The highest quality is listed first.

On Android

  1. In the X app, tap the Share icon under the post › Copy link.
  2. Open our downloader in your browser, tap the paste button and then Get download links.
  3. Tap download — the MP4 is saved to your Downloads folder and shows up in the gallery.

On iPhone

The fastest way is our free Shortcut: tap Share › Share via… › xMediaFetchBot in the X app and the video goes straight to Photos. Without the Shortcut, download in Safari as above and then open Files › Downloads, tap the video, tap Share and choose Save Video.

GIFs and photos

GIFs on X are actually short MP4 loops, so they download as MP4 files. Photos are listed under Images and save at their original resolution.

Tips

  • Links from t.co, twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com and fxtwitter work too.
  • If a post is from a protected account or marked sensitive, it can't be downloaded without logging in.
  • Choose 720p for sharing on messaging apps and 1080p for watching on a big screen.

Ready to try it? Paste your link and download in seconds.
